Start of the weekend......

It's been a looooong week.  Mum has been back to work and we miss having her around thru the day.  Don't get me wrong, it's nice to have the place to ourselves, we can sleep where we want, when we want, go out into the garden when we want, but, we do like having her around for cuddles n tickles.

Starry is now fine after her chocolate-biscuit stealing at the beginning of the week, although I have to admit that Pixie and I did help a little bit, but we wouldn't dare tell Mum.  We haven't been naughty since then so everything is ok, although I still haven't been given the football which I am sure was for me, I'm hoping I will get it this weekend - paws crossed!

It's turned cold and snowy again so Mum doesn't like going for very long walks, and to be honest, we are just as pleased.  I lurve going out for a walk, but it is nice to get back into the cosy warm house - you wouldn't think I was used to being an outdoor girl would you, but as you get older you need a bit more comfort - that's my excuse anyway.

Not sure what the weekend will bring, hoping for a nice long walk somewhere different soon but we'll have to wait and see.

Mum says that once she isn't working we'll have to cut back on trips out, but we are not to worry, there will always be food for us and if we ever need anything from the vet then she'll get the money somehow,  we know she would never let any harm come to us and if we are poorly we will be fixed!

Feeling snoozy now so will have to go but will try and let you know what we did this weekend.

Enjoy your weekends, and just remember, there are lots of furkids worse off than you - xxxx.

In the dog-house Part 2

Another not good day. Started off ok, had a lie in, then breakfast, then a nice walk. Bit of  a play in the garden with my very flat football then went in for a snooze. Mum "had" to go to the shops (humph) so we settled down but after a while of snoozing that little monkey Starry (mum says she's a lab cross - crossed with a monkey lol) decided that she would try and get a tin off the kitchen bench. We weren't sure what was in it but she managed to get it off the bench and then eventually got the lid off - it was half full of chocolate biscuits - oh joy!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Well, me n Pixie had to help her eat them but then we thought "uh-oh, we're gonna be in trouble again" so left Starry to eat as much as she wanted and we went to bed.

When Mum got back we ran to meet her, trying not to look worried but she knew something was up "what have you's been up to now" she said, laughing - then stopped.  She didn't say anything this time, just opened the front door and pointed out so out we all went, before she got mad.

She let us back in when she'd cleaned the mess up, bits of foil wrapper and then tried to put the tin lid back on - not that there was anything to put in it, but the lid is a bit mangled up.  She then called each of us over and felt our tummies and said we seemed to be ok and that she wasn't really mad but was worried we'd be sick.  Anyway, we've kept out of her way most of the evening and she hasn't called us over for cuddles so she must still be cross with us.

I'm a bit peeved really because when she came in she had a carrier bag with her, just the one, so I knew she'd been shopping and when she put it in the spare room, I could swear I saw a new football in it, a big bright yellow one, it looked great - but she hasn't given it to me so maybe it wasn't for me, or maybe I'll get it another day.  I really need one cos mine is as flat as a pancake and I can only just throw it up in the air and catch it.

Oh well, as the great Scarlett said "tomorrow is another day" - maybe I'll get it then.

Nite all, take care and be good to your furkids xxxx

In the dog-house

Ooops, we're well and truly in the dog house today.  It's that Starry's fault, she's our ring-leader but if anything goes wrong we all get into trouble o:((.

Off our human goes to feed her face and leaves us in the house, so, what are we supposed to do, just sleep?? Well, a dog can only sleep so long, so we had a snooze and then Starry has a wander around and realised a dish of chocolates had been left in the middle of the table, just out of reach.  Well, I couldn't see them but I had a good sniff and could smell them, mmmm, smelled so nice.  Anyway, we waited a while, and had a bit of a think, then Starry decided that as she was the tallest, if she stood on the settee, and reached right across, she might be able to reach  - and hurrah, she did.  Got a good mouthful of Roses chocolates and put them on the floor for us to share, so we did.  I know we shouldn't have, and that chocolate for dogs is very dangerous but we thought, surely a few can't harm us.  Tasted good but then when we looked on the floor and saw all the ripped sweet wrappers we thought uh-oh, I don't think she'll be happy.  Pixie did what she always does when there's trouble brewing, ran off to bed, snuggled up and snoozed.

I was the first to hear the key in the door so I ran to say hello and give her a cuddle, thought I'd better get round her before she saw the state of the sitting room, then Starry trundles out to say hello and she was saying "hello girls, have you missed me, what good girls" then followed us into the sitting room and did a fairly good impersonation of Victor Meldrew "I don't believe it - you naughty girls!!!" then glared at us all and with a big sigh went and got the dustpan.  She kept sighing all the time she was sweeping up - I did try the "I'll give you a sneaky kiss while your head is beside mine" but it didn't work, she just looked at me and shook her head.

I know we'll be friends again soon, but I just hate it when she's mad at us o:((.  Starry and Pixie are snoozing again but I'm in bed and I just keep looking at her, giving her my best "I'm so sorry" look but she hasn't smiled at me yet - I know she will tho o:).  None of us are poorly so that's a good thing, but I think we'd best not try that again!!

Happy New Year

to everyone.  Well, bit of a strange end to the 2010; we went to our "grand-humans" just for a couple of hours and ended up staying for ages because "she-who-must-be-obeyed" (in her dreams!!!) managed to lock us out of the car because the key wouldn't work (not just any key but I daren't repeat what she called it!).  Had to wait ages for the AA man to come and rescue us so we didn't get home til nearly 1 o'clock and we were pretty tired by then, don't sleep too well when we're not at home and that is way past our usual bedtime.

Anyway, we settled down for a cuddle while she "de-stressed" with a glass of wine, personally I would rather have a cup of tea but humans are funny aren't they.

Today we've had a nice time, been to Newburn Riverside Park for a nice walk then we had some treats in the middle of the afternoon (usually only get them at night-time but she said we'd been really good), then settled down for our afternoon nap.

Waiting for our dinner now, although Pixie is having a mad 2 minutes by rolling around on her back, she thinks doing this will get some attention, have to say it usually works and "er-indoors" usually says "oh Pixie, you are funny" then laughs at her and gives her a cuddle - she's not daft that Pixie!

We've been told we have to be good after dinner cos she's got a new book to read called "Hoping for a home", it's about animals who have been rescued by the RSPCA - maybe she'll get a few tips on how to be a better owner, hehehe!!!!

Hope you all enjoy your last few days of the holidays and hope you're planning to do something special with your pets before you dessert us and go back to work.

Catch up later, be good xx
